Lucky the Longhorn

Mascot from the state of Texas

arrives in Brooklyn!!

We had our hearing and vision checked.  Mrs. Forman measured the children's height and weight. The children measured Lucky's height.  Lucky is 5 inches tall!!

We also measured the width of his long horns.

Lucky's  horns  measured 8 inches!

Lucky visited the Book Making Center.

We made a book about Fall.

Lucky checked out the Art Center where the children traced, colored and cut out Fall leaves.

At our Math Center, Lucky learned about "inside" and  "outside," as the children designed the interiors and exteriors of their houses.

We learned that Lucky's favorite song was the "Blue Song."  We didn't know the song so we improvised. Taylor sang him, her rendition of the "blue song" to the tune of "Jingle Bells." Paula suggested that we sing him our "blue song"- "Bluebird!"

Bluebird, bluebird, through our window...

We had a roaring good time, even Lucky the Longhorn couldn't stop giggling.

Fun Fact: The Bluebird is New York's State Bird!

Lucky was such a sweetheart, he offered to help Mrs. Forman clean up her messy desk. It was quite a challenge, even for the mighty Longhorn of Texas.

More to come...
